Booty Bay Turtle Mount

Step in the arena!

Hey guys,

one that was a hot weekend. In Mannheim on Saturday it was still as hot as I think in any competition I've ever been on. And so began the race day. Just sit around by the naked in the warm-up hall of the MTG-stadium I've started to sweat. The warm up went according to plan and then I felt ok, but still not where I want to go. I but above all I'm trying to make that day absolutely no stress. In watching these climatic conditions do you find that you are not already in the warm up too much spent and divides his forces well. I think I've done very well and went out to feed. Through the barrels in front of my I saw that there were very good wind conditions. In most races it was 1.0 to 2.0 meters per second tailwind. So absolutely perfect conditions just for me. So I naturally went into the block and tried to focus full. I could then bring to a solid start and a technically clean and uneventful run to the finish and win my lead. 13.63 sec. revealed the blackboard and I was at first happy, but on second glance, of course, a bit irritated because of the 3 hundredths of a second the norm. The view of the wind made it display then even better. We had 0.6 meters per second headwind. This one may then describe it as bad luck. And now I realize this is always special because I use the hot wind of course always welcome when it comes to the final hurdles.

Well no matter forget it! Now it was time for me to focus my full and the 2nd to use to drive me to develop further. I felt a bit geschlaucht from the heat, but just when it came to the station, I had good pressure in the legs. In the final stretch it was then same game could wind up on all supported us and with 0.3 meters per second tailwind you almost speak of calm. Well one day the luck will be time on my site;). But now for the run, which was much more important. I caught the start actually quite good and I was like in the lead, but then I made a fatal mistake I've made many times before and I had screwed up and the final at the German indoor championships this year. I was not raised in time before the first hurdle and crashed with my guide into the first full-leg hurdle. The course took me quite a bit of speed and the advantage and hit the right hole was gone. As I stumble into something I had to do was up to the second hurdle to get me back into position to attack in full. So I did as well, because if I had said before a race, it was that I would fight even after the worst mistakes until the end. In the middle of the race I tried to push through my good rhythm and the hurdles to push a little more than in the flow. I managed well and just back out I could finally get through my art. In the end I fought my way then at a time of 13.58 sec. Which means the first performance of the EM-norm, which have to meet twice.

course, I am satisfied with this result. I must be. I fought back well and am on the right track. But it is precisely the error at the first hurdle, because I know how serious this is for me (and what this has cost in time), let me now focus even more to build on the things in front of me, for I know that even much more is inside me. The next Friday I will run in Bottrop and there I had the next chance for me to develop further.

I was pretty annoyed after the race, because who knows me knows that I'm never quite happy until the barrel is almost perfect. 6 hurdler now have already been the norm and I am among them. That was my "Step in the arena ".

All should check with me in the direction to know that when I only have one direction!

Never stop moving forward!
